Red Kite Sportive 2017

Red Kite Sportive 2017

Suzana Murdoch reports
Marlow red kite 80 mile ride. Somewhat damp day but still great fun.
It was good but we weren't very quick. Came in the Silver standard. Maybe might have made it
if we took shorter breaks at the feed zone as moving time was 5:09. Think we'll want to do the 100 mile next year. It was very well organised.

RideLondon 2017 and Zappi GF

Kevin Buckley
Mathew Brown and myself set off from Caversham at 3.15 in the morning. We should have had plenty of time but we somehow ended up in a bit of a panic to get to the start area in the allotted time. We found Ian Armstrong and Nick Lees and managed to get a team picture.

Weather was very kind to us. Nice and warm with minimal wind speeds. Although the heat would punish us towards the end once climbing Col de Izoard.

White Roads Challenge 9th July 2017

Reading CC had several riders in this multicourse event held mainly on The Ridgeway.
Here's their comments

Graham Patterson
White Roads Challenge today, saw some other RCC riders in their new kit - looking good. I took the short option of 110km but it was still tough going, sign posting could have been better but Garmin saved the day. Glad I opted for Schwalbe Marathons @ 28c some of my group had four punctures.

Lucy Partridge at Velothon Wales

Velothon Wales 09/07/17
Dylan Berry writes:
“Wales decided to treat this event with a great sunny day.
4 people I know of that took part is this great event:
Lucy Partridge 126km, +-1110m EL gain
Stephen Crowley 140km
David Ivory 140km
Dylan Berry 140km, +- 1500m EL gain
If any others rode please feel free to add.
It started with a couple of bangs and crunches along the first 40km. Many accidents (2 severe ones that I saw). But once everything settled down it was more pleasant to ride in a group and get on with it.
