Original Box Hill Sportive 2017

Ranjit Bahra reports:
On Sunday 8th October I rode in the Box Hill Wiggle Super series sportive in the Mecca of cycling that is the Surrey Hills. A very different route to past events with Box Hill featuring in the latter half rather than within a quarter of a mile from the start. Great weather for a testing route consisting of numerous undulations with multiple short sharp ramps and ascents but the real climbing started after 55 miles with multiple back-back climbs including Box Hill then Ranmore Common and numerous other cimbs.
A great day out, 102 miles/ 6352 feet climbing.
New Forest 100 sportive

Lisbeth Morrison rode this sportive, her first sportive at this distance:
"The ride was incredible! Absolutely stunning scenery and a fantastic atmosphere. We were very lucky with the weather, and had some gorgeous sunshine to begin with. The ride had some good hills and was a perfect one to do for my first 100, and I was really pleased with my time of 6hrs21mins. Cindy Goslar did the 100 on the Sunday but I didn't see anyone else from RCC on Saturday"

A glimpse of the Timmelsjoch pass from the Oetzaler Radmarathon which I rode on Sunday the 27th. Its a tough event - 238km and 5500 metres of climbing over four passes. It starts in Solden, Austria and winds through beautiful valleys down to Oetz before a tough early morning climb up to Kuhtai followed by a fast decent into Innsbruck.
