Club TT result 1/9/2015, Twyford 10-mile

So, that’s the club TT season done. On a cool evening with little wind, 14 riders assembled for a lap of the Twyford 10-mile course. I had to dig out a parental consent form for the first time for the father of Cal Gorvy (Palmer Park Velo, 12 years old) to sign. Cal proceeded to put in a solid ride.
Former RCC rider Nick English was untouchable, however, rocketing round in 22:09. Times behind were a bit tighter with 28 seconds covering the next five places. James Churchard sealed his Dave Finch circuit series victory. With rides done and times admired or tutted at, all that remained was what turned into a chaingang blast home, prompting Nick to remark ‘you should have tried harder in the race’.

Club TT result 25/8/2015 Waltham St Lawrence HCC234

A mild and windy evening saw a near course record ride at Waltham St Lawrence from ex-RCC rider Nick English despite damp roads. 13 riders signed on to face the timekeeping team of Graham Patterson, Dave Gaida and Haydn Rhys James. Nick was away first and blasted round for a win by a margin. Of RCC riders Jim Watchorn put in a very impressive 22:45.

Club TT result, 18/08/2015, Fifield H10/10

Not too windy this evening and although it looked like it might rain when I left my house, luckily there was none. A turn out of 17 riders made the help from Graham all the more welcome, if the eventual winner Nick English was any higher up the order I might have missed him if I was alone. Nick set a great time of 21:01 for the win. Possibly the youngest rider on the course, Tim Allen coming 2nd, he seemed disappointed not to make the 21s, with a time of 22 mins dead. And Greg Woodford making up the podium with 22:14.

Hello all,

I didn't think rain was in the weather forecast for this evening but rain it did. This was enough to put Martin Cairns off riding, an understandable decision, and many thanks to him for sticking around and helping. Thanks also to Gary Baker for timing duties, I was impressed that Gary rode out and back. I guess he didn’t expect the rain either.

Club TT result 4/8/15 Bucklebury HCC201b

14 riders took part in tonights Bucklebury TT, some great times on a breezy night. Will Haynes defended his crown on this course with another fine win.

That stretch up the Assendon valley kills me on this course so it wasn’t a huge surprise when Jim Watchorn pounded past as we approached the steeper part of Pishill. Jim is putting out a lot of watts these days and would have caught all but two riders this evening on his way to a fine victory over a very competitive field. What a lot of good times!
